Dutch-inspired Brazilians making amazing design? Yes!

São Paulo based Quadradão is doing just that. I was pretty excited to run across them, they have a very impressive body of work. Such big, fat, bold shapes and colors. In design school I remember trying to get Helvetica to look this good.

See more of their work here.

I’m a quilter and love the graphics on this site – almost every image today has great potential for a quilt! Thanks for the inspiration!

Seriously? Looks like a bunch of Experimental Jetset wannabes to me. Maybe in a few years time they can give it a Brazilian twist and make it a tiny bit more original instead of the current rip-off-feeling… Cool stuff for quilting nonetheless.

BRAZIL!!!!!!!

I love it!

This seems to be a Brazilian trend, possibly because of their design education…
I have some Brazilian students in my master of graphic design classes, and their work is the most clean and modernist, almost Swiss I’d say!

yeah i spent about a half an hour on their site last week. Their work is seriously amazing, the color pallets give it that Brazilian flavor that mixes it so nicely.

Experimental Jetset.

I was born and raised in Brazil and laura@popdesign is right! I remember growing up around elementary/middle school books with sharp and clean cut cover designs, as well as album covers from the 60′s and 70′s with the same type of design.
That era was very influential to us especially if you think Oscar Niemeyer, an amazing modernist architect that designed the Brazilian capital, and the whole era pior to ’64 when the military dictatorship started.
Even if you try to escape from it, for us, still the only way to make graphic design!

I love the colorful idea in your design. I have learned Photoshop by just reading online tutorial websites. they provide great help.

A seriously beautiful body of work, very much in the style of the early modernists. They may soon reblogged :)
