These are really great. Im always impressed how these types of things were created before computers… It seems that you had to be way more creative back then because the tools were so limited by today’s standards.

I worked for Mr Eidlitz briefly in 1988 at his studio in his house in Sydney. When I say briefly I mean a couple of days! I had flu and thought he was a nutcase! He had a glass dildo on his desk in a glass which spun me out a little!
Plus his wife had just bought Chris Be Burghs version of “wild horses” and she played it over and over, I wanted to smash the record into oblivion…
Anyway I had no idea what a legend he was, it was years before I came to appreciate how talented he was, I pick up an old Graphis, “wow that’s cool” noting the designer, Frank Eidlitz, there should be a monograph of his work, now there’s an idea. If only I had stuck around and found out about him.
Here in Australia another great designer was Douglas Annand who worked principally in the 50′s /60′s and did all kinds of beautiful modern work ranging from sculpture, textiles, graphics painting, brilliant guy. I’ll have to dig up some stuff for you folks, I visited his house at college on an assignment, took some photos of things he made, he was a true modernist and fantastic all rounder artisan/designer.
