Actually all of the designers who have been ripped off by her should be compensated.

Sadly, the elements that really make her work stand out are the actual pieces that she decided the rip off… the additional collage work seem irrelevant and nonchalant.

Christiana actually worked with the studio Mother London to create the campaign for Stella Artois - her work wasn’t ripped, she actually did the ripping herself by using the CBC logo.

I think Burton Kramer has actually been informed… I told somebody about this who is familiar with him, and I think he’s passed the message along. Not sure what his reaction is yet, but since he wasn’t informed of the usage beforehand I’m pretty sure he won’t be too happy.

Cristiana’s previous work showing the CBC logo used without even covering up the line which makes the “C” and also using the EXACT same colour scheme both times removes any doubt that this could be an accident.

Cristiana’s work is elegant and beautiful, however this is completely shameful.

The ads should be pulled, Kramer/CBC should be compensated.

I thought these were very pretty when I saw them the other day, and I quite liked them when I thought they were personal projects. But seeing the Stella poster using the CBC logo gives me pause - is that a copyright violation? I wouldn’t have thought ‘fair use’ extends to being incorporated into a commercial project.

Including the C in the middle extending outwards and the number of rings etc.. But I suppose it wasn’t commercial work and just an exploration and the work is definitely nice.

maybe worth noting that a lot of the more interesting typographic and iconographic elements she is using are often complete re-appropriations (rip offs?) of things like Reid Miles album covers.

I like the overall tone of her collages, but often the most interesting elements that people comment on on her flickr page.. are thing she simply copy and pasted and set to Multiply.

don’t mean to be a hater, i like how she has re-contextualized things.. i just find myself wishing she could try a bit harder to find more subtle sources (she has basically pillaged Reid Miles’ Portfolio for blue note).
